GENERAL CONFERENCE
Q. When is the conference being held?
A. The 2024 TransPride YOUniting Health & Wellness Conference will be held on November 7th, 8th, and 9th.
Q. Where is the conference being held? Is this a Pittsburgh only thing?
A. No! This became a national/international conference in 2020 when we started offering content online. The heart of the conference remains in Pittsburgh, PA, where most of our collaborators, partners, planners, and organizers live. We have speakers and attendees from across the continent and beyond.
Q. Who is this conference intended for?
A. The conference is both an academic and community conference. The content is intended for health care professionals from a range of medical and behavioral health fields, researchers, advocates, community workers, legal professionals, and all adult transgender and gender diverse (TGD) community members and their families or caregivers.
Q. Is the conference in-person or online?
A. This is a hybrid conference. Our core content is presented virtually through the Whova events platform online for both live attendance and (in most cases) recording for later viewing. We also plan to use a distributed hybrid model with in-person sites at some locations across the country.
This allows both speakers and attendees to connect from anywhere they have an Internet connection while retaining the possibility of presenting or attending in-person where hybrid sites are located.
Q. How do I connect to the conference online?
A. You will need an Internet connection. You can connect either via the Whova web (browser) or mobile app. Registration is required.
Q. What languages are supported?
A. The conference is presented in English. Close captioning will be turned on for sessions presented via our Whova events platform.
Q. Is there a difference between the TransPride YOUniting Health & Wellness Conference and the TransPride Conference?
A. No, they are the same thing. The conference is named for our primary community partners TransPride PGH, a community organization, and TransYOUniting, a Black trans-led community organization, both long serving the gender diverse community in Pittsburgh.
Q. Are TransPride PGH, TransYOUniting, and the TransPride YOUniting Health & Wellness Conference the same thing?
A. No, but they are related. TransPride PGH and TransYOUniting are our primary community partners, both locate in Pittsburgh, PA. The TransPride YOUniting Conference is a collaboration between our community partners and our primary institutional partners, UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital/Behavioral Health. We are also partnered with Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation, Proud Haven, and The TransVerse.
Q. How do I get involved with the TransPride YOUniting Conference?
A. If you love what we are doing and would like to get more involved, please send an email to: Get involved.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Q. What does "Continuing Education" mean?
A. Most health care professionals who are certified or licensed are required to attend a certain number of educational hours per year in order to maintain those licenses or certifications. Our Continuing Education content is reviewed by our accreditor, and they decide how many credit or contact hours the conference can offer.
Q. What types of Continuing Education credits are available?
A. The types of continuing education credit available are determined by our accreditor [See Accredition Information]. We are offering Continuing Medical Education (CME), Continuing Education (CEU), Nursing (ANCC), and Physician Assistant (PA..) credits. Certificates of Attendance will also be available.
Q. How do I claim my Continuing Education credits or certificate?
A. [Instructions from our accreditor coming soon]
